Help minimize waste

EH&S operates a chemical redistribution or "recycling" program as part of a campus-wide waste minimization effort. EH&S stores surplus chemicals received in like-new condition from Iowa State facilities and offers them free of charge to the university community.

How to request a chemical

To request a chemical from our surplus, follow the steps below:

  1.  Open the Waste Removal Request System.
  2. Select "Chemical Request" from the tabs at the top of the web page.
  3. Select "New Request."
  4. Select "Add Material" to choose from the available chemicals.
  5. Enter the building name and room number where you want the materials to be delivered.
  6. Submit your request.

Donate to the program

If you have unopened, non-expired chemicals that you don't need, consider donating them to the Chemical Redistribution Program.
