Hands-on training for laboratory users

The Laboratory Safety Workshop series is designed for ISU faculty, staff, and students (both graduate and undergraduate) who will work in laboratories. This training series includes the following hands-on workshops:

  • Hazard assessments
  • Hazardous waste disposal and Regulated Materials Facility tour
  • Laboratory inspections
  • Safety data sheets
  • Standard operating procedures

Each workshop has a duration of two hours.

    • Hazard Assessment Workshop

Join us for a comprehensive Hazard Assessment Workshop tailored for ISU faculty, staff, and students (both graduate and undergraduate). This interactive session refines your skills in identifying, mitigating, and controlling potential hazards in your lab. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your lab safety knowledge and practice!

      • Hands-On Learning: Engage in practical exercises to apply hazard assessment techniques.
      • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside your peers to discuss real-world scenarios and share insights.
      • Bring Your SOPs: We encourage participants to bring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, or other relevant documents to conduct a personalized hazard assessment during the workshop.
    • Hazardous Waste Disposal Workshop and Regulated Materials Facility Tour

Join us for an informative and interactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Workshop designed for ISU faculty, staff, and students (both graduate and undergraduate) working in laboratories. This training will cover best practices of hazardous waste management and provide hands-on experience to ensure compliance and safety.
